Our whale team is a dedicated group of international scientists, conservationists and volunteers.

We are scientists and volunteers. We are Americans and Russians and Pacific Islanders. We are from Japan and Iceland, Zanzibar and the Caribbean Islands. We are just like you — we believe whales are too precious to risk, and too threatened to ignore. We are determined to make a difference and create a better world for whales and people.

From the very beginning, IFAW’s founders rejected the notion that the interests of humans and animals were separate. Instead they embraced the understanding that the fate and future of all animals on Earth are linked to our own. This basic belief guides us every day, as we work around the world to end whaling and protect whales, dolphins and porpoises.
